Our Labyrinth

Walking a labyrinth as a spiritual practice can be an aid to prayer and meditation. It is also a metaphor for the path of faith.

Our labyrinth’s square shape recalls the first labyrinth found at a Christian church, dating from the fourth century A.D. in Roman North Africa. The design with six circuits and seven walls, counting from the outer wall to the center, was adapted from one drawn in an eleventh century manuscript from Abingdon-on-Thames, Oxfordshire, UK. The 28 intersecting corners form a saltire, or a Saint Andrew’s Cross.

The concept by Rialto Studio also reflects the architecture of our sanctuary, designed by the Texas architect, O’Neal Ford.
